PUBLICATIONS
Visser has authored in excess of 90 papers and presentations, of which more than 60 have been published. Below is a list of 96 papers and presentations covering a wide range of subjects on the application of ammonia refrigeration to industrial food processing and cold storage with a particular emphasis on meat until about the year 2000 with only a few since.
Since the year 2002 Visser has mainly written about CO2 after his dear departed friend, mentor and teacher Professor Gustav Lorentzen started to teach Visser about CO2 refrigeration after GL discovered in 1985 that Visser, like GL himself, had worked on a ship with a CO2 plant. GL took an interest in Visser’s work after GL attended the presentation of paper No. 11 in Melbourne in September 1976 in GL’s then capacity as President of The Scientific Council of IIR.
Paper No.11 was also responsible for the invitation from Land O’ Lakes to participate in the investigations at the Spencer Beef, Oakland, Iowa and Schuyler, Nebraska plants. This started my successful career in the USA and other parts.
The Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating awarded the best paper award for Paper No. 27 in 1984 after the paper was published in the AIRAH Journal in 1983.
